Description

Help us construct a home for another Sheboygan County family! Gain experience with all aspects of construction and green building protocols. We will be painting and installing all the finishing touches on this home-most rough construction is completed. PLEASE NOTE: YOU MUST CALL IN THE MORNING OF YOUR VOLUNTEER DAY TO SEE IF THERE ARE ANY CHANGES TO LOCATION OR TASKS-920-458-3399 EXTENSION 304 No previous experience is necessary, just a willing heart!  We will send an outgoing message at: 920-458-3399 extension 304 to post any weather related closures by 7:00 am the day of the build.

ALL volunteers are required to sign a Liability Waiver Form and bring it with them to the job site.

Things to know prior to arrival on an active build or renovation site: Typical Work Day Schedule:

• 9:00 am volunteers arrive on site and fill out or turn in paperwork to construction manager at the site support table/work trailer. • 9:30 am morning meeting and prayer/devotions (it is crucial for all volunteers to attend this meet and greet) • 10:30 am mid-morning coffee/water/snack break • NOON Lunch • 3:30-4:00 pm finish tasks and clean up

HFHL encourages each volunteer to bring the following items with them to the worksite if you prefer to use your own: • Work gloves • Safety glasses • Hammer • Tape measure • Pencil • Utility knife • Tool belt or nail apron • Closed toe shoes (required) • Water bottle or reusable coffee mug For groups or individuals working on landscaping and painting projects: • Work gloves • Safety glasses • A rag or old towel • Closed toe shoes (required) • Water bottle or reusable coffee mug. MODEST shorts are acceptable. Thank you! Habitat provides all of the tools, but you are welcome to bring your own belt if you want.
