We need many fun-loving folks to help us make our inaugural Leaf Stomp a success. This non-competitive event involves hikers traversing one of four routes along the Ice Age National Scenic Trail through the Kettle Moraine State Forest - Northern Unit.
Volunteers are needed to staff the four refreshment/aid stations, help hikers cross roads safely, escort people onto shuttle buses, lead participants down the trail, sweep behind the last hikers, help with registration, congratulate finishers, be cheerleaders at the starting points, drive safety shuttles, and handout finisher awards. Teams of volunteers are welcome to sign up.
There will be three shifts for helpers: 5:30-10:00 am, 10:00 am-2:00 pm, and 2:00-6:00 pm.
The funds we raise will go towards the Ice Age Visitor Center Complex Project which involves vegetation rehabilitation around the center, and construction of an amphitheater, universally accessible loop trail, nature themed playground, and picnic shelter along with parking lot improvements.
