SHINE ON TO BENEFIT RCS TRAILSIDE PARK
RCS Empowers, Inc. is hosting their inaugural fundraising event called “Shine On.’’ The event will feature holiday trees, wreaths and specialty items that are decorated and donated by people who continue to ‘Shine On’ in our community.
All proceeds from the event will benefit the RCS Empowers Trailside Park. This year’s fundraising effort is dedicated to raising $100,000 to create a park and enhance the RCS gardens. The new RCS Trailside Park plans to take underutilized RCS land on both sides of the public bike path (along Geele Avenue) and establish an attractive, accessible green area. The space will allow for expanded outdoor opportunities for those with mobility concerns and other disabilities, while also acting as a public rest area along the bike path. RCS has been awarded an initial grant from the Sheboygan County Stewardship Fund towards the project.
On Friday, November 16th, a VIP event will take place beginning at 6:30 p.m. Attendees for that evening can expect a sneak peek of the RCS commons area that will be transformed into a winter wonderland. Get inspired by the beautiful holiday decorations, enjoy delicious appetizers, enjoy a fun evening with friends, and perhaps a glass of vintage wine. Several donated and decorated items will be auctioned off at VIP night. Tickets are $50 per person and can be purchased online or by calling 920-694-1228.
On Saturday, November 17th, the “Shine On” wonderland will be open to the public from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. and admission is free. A brat fry will take place in conjunction with a special guest. Mrs. Claus will be mingling with visitors from 11 a.m to 1 p.m.; her visit will end with storytime at 1 p.m. All ages are welcome to attend this family friendly day.
RCS Empowers, Inc. is located at 1607 Geele Avenue in Sheboygan. Parking will be available along Geele Avenue or in the Calumet Square parking lot.
