Volunteer: Become a Tutor: Change a life!Help change a life by helping an adult learner gain the reading or English language skills needed to succeed at work, in school, and in daily life. Volunteer tutors receive free training and resources. No prior tutoring or teaching experience is needed—just patience and a desire to help another adult who wants to learn. Tutor training occurs three times a year—early fall, winter, and spring. Tutoring times are flexible. Tutors and adult learners meet 1–2 times per week, for 1–2 hours each time (for a minimum of at least 2 hours per week) at the library or other public spots. We ask that the tutor make a minimum 6-month commitment to tutoring. Tutors must be age 18+, have a high school diploma, and a desire to make a difference!
