Who We Are

The Mission of Anokijig is to provide youth and families with an outdoor setting and community that is based on respectful values and dedicated to the development of positive life styles while learning new skills, experiencing personal growth, having outrageous fun, and developing an appreciation for our natural environment. Anokijig has been recognized for excellence in camping for over 90 years. Founded in 1926, Anokijig has built a rich tradition of offering youth experiences that will last a lifetime. Anokijig is a Native American word meaning "We Serve," and is the basis for all we do.

What We Do

Camp Anokijig is a not-for-profit organization dedicated to developing youth and families by providing a healthy, natural environment that promotes character building and personal growth. Anokijig’s core programs are youth summer camp, outdoor education, teen leadership development, family programs, group retreats and rentals, adventure challenges, team building, and volunteerism. Activities include: arts & crafts, swimming, kayaking, fishing, sailing, canoeing, archery, woodworking, windsurfing, horseback riding, ukulele band, digital photo, drama, paddleboats, row-boating, riflery, dance, nature courses, adventure challenge and so much more! Anokijig is not just another place to go, it’s a community, an experience, a spirit shared with all who visit. It has an incredible magic that you will always cherish.
