The Sheboygan Rotary Club offers membership to anyone interested in an international club that provides volunteer service and funding to community and international efforts.
What We Do
The Sheboygan Rotary Club members volunteer in several community and international activities, Salvation Army meals and bell ringing, Fresh Meals on Wheels, Making Spirits Bright Holiday Light Show, and Restoration of Our Trees Sheboygan, (ROOTS).
"Student of the Month Program" which invites two students from Sheboygan North High, South High, Christian High School, Sheboygan Lutheran High School and Kohler High School to attend a month of weekly Rotary lunch meetings. Attendance at the Rotary meetings provide the students and opportunity to interact with Rotarians regarding college selections, careers and job opportunities.
"High School Scholarship Program" which awards an $8,000 scholarship to a student planning to attend a four year college and a $2,000 scholarship to a student planning to attend Lakeshore Technical College.
Sponsorship of an "Interact High School Club" at North High School. A Sheboygan Rotary Club member provides guidance and sponsorship of the club that currently has 80 high school members. The Interact Club provides volunteer service to the local community and raises funds and awareness for global causes.
Sponsorship of high school students to attend the annual Rotary World Affairs Seminar at Carroll College in June. High School students from the U.S. and foreign countries attend a week long program to develop plans to solve a global situation. Our club sponsors up to four high school students to attend each year.
Monetary sponsorship of a Guatemalan student to attend high school in their country. Our club provides a scholarship to a Sheboygan County high School student to travel to Guatemala with our Rotarians to complete a service project and meet our Guatemalan student.
Sheboygan Rotary Club sponsors a college Rotaract Club at Lakeland University. A Rotarian serves as a consultant and International Rotary dues are covered by the Rotary Club so that the Rotaract Club is open to all college students regardless of ability to pay.
Rotary Flag Program, providing the delivery and posting of two hundred fifty American Flag to homes and businesses for national holidays. This is our Rotary Clubs main fundraising effort directing $17,000 annually to our Rotary Foundation.
Sheboygan Rotary Club members also volunteer as board members, volunteers and support staff for the annual Rotary Making Spirits Bright event held at Evergreen Park that benefits the Sheboygan Food Bank.
The Sheboygan Rotary Club’s global projects include a partnership between the Sheboygan Rotary and Kohler Co. in 2017 to for the WASH (Water/Sanitation/Hygiene) projects in India. These projects were planned and implemented by Kohler Associates and Sheboygan Rotary Club members in India, primarily Pune. Our club continues to raise funds for this effort through our “Small Plate Event” which raises $30,000 for global projects.
Our Rotary Club provides ongoing financial support of the global Polio-Plus Program with the goal to eradicate polio word wide.
