Who We Are

Mission: To inspire girls to be joyful, healthy and confident using a fun, experience-based curriculum which creatively integrates running and movement.

Girls on the Run is a youth development program for youth in 3rd-8th grade. We combine social/emotional learning with physical activity. At Girls on the Run Northeast Wisconsin, teaching essential life skills is the cornerstone of our research-based programs. Trained volunteer coaches facilitate lessons that blend physical activity with life skill development, including managing emotions, fostering friendships, and expressing empathy.

The program culminates with a community impact project and the kids being physically and emotionally prepared to complete a celebratory 5K run/walk/roll event. The goal of the program is to unleash confidence through accomplishment while establishing a lifetime appreciation of health and fitness.

What We Do

We inspire girls to be joyful, healthy and confident using a fun, experience-based curriculum which creatively integrates running and movement. We envision a world where every youth knows and activates their limitless potential and is free to boldly pursue their dreams.

We can only accomplish this through to the dedication of volunteers!  We have the following opportunities for you to make an impact:

  • Coach: Leads team and carries out practices using prepared curriculum
  • 5K Event Volunteer: Assist with various jobs the day of the annual celebratory 5K
  • Site Liaison: Manages GOTR site
  • General Volunteer: Helps with various needs throughout the year (team helper, assemble team backpacks with supplies, assemble 5K goody bags, transporting materials & supplies, and more)
