

Who We Are
One of twelve historic sites and museums owned by the Wisconsin Historical Society, Wade House Historic Site is located just off Highway 23, halfway between Sheboygan and Fond du Lac. Set upon 240 rolling acres within the northern reaches of the Kettle Moraine State Forest, the site celebrates the world of plank road stagecoach travel, horse-drawn transportation, and mid-19th-century settlement and town building.
What We Do
Wade House offers many opportunities to volunteer in a variety of capacities to suit any interest or skill level. Current volunteer opportunities at Wade House include:
- Carpentry
- Grounds Maintenance
- Garden Maintenance
- Carriage Museum Greeter
- Seamstress
- Visitor Surveys
- Office Help: mailings, phone calls
Special Events Volunteering
In addition to opportunities throughout the regular season, there are greater needs for volunteers during special events. Typically, special event volunteers help with:
- Admissions
- Shuttles
- Parking
- Set-up
- Guides
- Registration
- Runners
