Position Overview

As a Board Member of RTSC, you will play a vital role in guiding the strategic direction, sustainability, and impact of the organization. Board Members act as ambassadors of our mission by providing leadership, governance, and support needed to build the organization’s resources and meet current and future client needs.

As we celebrate 28 years of service, we seek Board Members who are passionate about ensuring safe homes and thriving communities for all.


Key Responsibilities

Governance & Oversight

  • Attend and actively participate in monthly board meetings.
  • Review and approve policies, budgets, and program plans.
  • Uphold and promote RTSC’s mission, vision, and values.

Strategic Leadership

  • Collaborate on long-term goals and organizational growth strategies.
  • Provide professional insight to improve services, outreach, and participant engagement.

Financial Stewardship

  • Review financial statements, approve budgets, and help ensure fiscal accountability.
  • Support fundraising efforts through donor outreach and community partnerships.
  • Assist in identifying grant and funding opportunities to sustain program expansion.

Community Engagement & Advocacy

  • Serve as a public ambassador for RTSC, sharing our mission and impact.
  • Build and maintain relationships with local organizations, agencies, and supporters.

Committee Participation

  • Serve on at least one committee.
  • Contribute expertise in areas such as construction and trades, project management, marketing, finance, community outreach, fundraising, or administration.

Expectations

  • Serve a three-year term, renewable upon board approval.
  • Actively participate on committees and/or rebuilding projects.
  • Represent and promote RTSC within your networks.
  • Support the mission through advocacy, fundraising, and community engagement.
  • Approximate time commitment: 8 hours per month.
